Application for Variance

The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a variance of Stormwater Management.

Project Description:

The project has an approximate area of 0.44 acres and is bounded by North Charles Street to the west, East Cold Spring Lane to South, institutional property to the north, and residential properties to the east. The project will consist of a new building addition to the Donnelly Hall building with associated landscape and hardscape enhancements surrounding the building addition. The project includes associated stormwater management measures including ESD facilities and landscape improvements. 

The Applicant is requesting a variance in accordance with Article 7, §23-4 of the City Code for approximately 0.10 acre of this project for recharge provision. The Applicant has demonstrated that 0.44 acres of the project will have water quality and quantity control provided. The applicant will not be required to provide recharge provision for 0.10 acres of impervious area associated with this project due to the proposed ESD facility having a concrete bottom due to proximity to the building. Remaining water quality controls are provided via a banking debit from previous project ESD#5958.
