The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a redevelopment and quantitative control waivers. If granted, the project will still need to provide water qualitative controls, per the requirements of the State’s Design Manual.

Project Description:

The project has an approximate area of 0.48 acres and is located North at the intersection of Key Highway East and Woodall Street. The project will consist of Demolition of existing concrete relieving platform, reconstruction of existing failing timber bulkhead with new king pile bulkhead, construction of a new water intake system, construction of new steel grating over demolished concrete relieving platform and replace portion of demolished existing concrete relieving platform.

The Applicant is requesting a redevelopment waiver in accordance with Article 7, §23-7 of the City Code. The existing impervious area coverage meets the conditions for this waiver. The project will provide impervious area reduction to satisfy the requirements of this waiver for 0.07 ac of this project. The Applicant will satisfy the remaining water quality controls for this project by payment of fee-in-lieu of on-site stormwater management for 0.17 ac of this project.

The Applicant is requesting a Quantitative Control Waiver in accordance with Article 7, §23-1 of the City Code. The Applicant has demonstrated that 0.48 ac of the project has a direct, concentrated discharge of stormwater to tidal waters. The applicant will not be required to provide quantitative controls for 0.48 ac of this project.
