Application for Qualitative and Quantitative Control Waiver
The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a qualitative control and quantitative control waivers.

Project Description: | Ramboll will be implementing sediment remediation of a target area of nearshore sediments within the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River, adjacent to 2000 Race Street in Baltimore, MD (39°15'59.3"N, 76°37'15.6"W; Parcel Account Number 0323101040 002A). As approved by Maryland Department of Environment (MDE), the work includes removal of approximately 500 cubic yards of sediments from a 7,630 square foot tidal wetlands and open water area on city-owned property to address elevated concentrations of arsenic and DDD/DDE/DDT detected in these sediments. Site access, equipment and material staging, and material processing will occur within the paved site area, which will not be disturbed. Temporary access mats will be installed from the paved area ofthe site into the adjacent vegetated wetland area to access the sediment excavation area. The excavation area will be isolated using temporary water diversion dam system. The excavated area will be backfilled to existing elevations and allowed to naturally revegetate to existing vegetated conditions. The total limit ofdisturbance is approximately 0.7 acres. The project will not result in any change to the amount ofexisting impervious area of the site The Applicant is requesting a qualitative control waiver in accordance with Article 7, Division II, §23-2 of the City Code. The Applicant has demonstrated that the project will return the 0.7 ac disturbed area to a predevelopment runoff condition. The applicant will not be required to provide qualitative control controls for 0.7 ac of this project.
