DPW Offices, Sanitation Yards Close for Memorial Day Holiday, Monday, May 27, 2024

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Acting Director Khalil Zaied reminds residents that Memorial Day is on Monday, May 27, 2024. As a City-observed holiday, DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED.
The Memorial Day closure does NOT impact weekly trash and recycling collections. Monday is not a scheduled curbside trash or recycling collection day. Mechanical street sweeping WILL NOT be in effect.
DPW facilities closed on Memorial Day to residents and haulers include:
- Northwest Transfer Station, 5030 Reisterstown Road
- Quarantine Road Landfill, 6100 Quarantine Road
- Northwest Residential Drop-off Center, 2840 Sisson Street
- Southwestern Residential Drop-off Center, 701 Reedbird Avenue
- Eastern Residential Drop-off Center, 6101 Bowleys Lane
Extended summer hours for DPW Residential Drop-off Centers start after Memorial Day, from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday-Saturday. These extended summer hours are effective until Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2.
Please note that the Northwest Transfer Station will remain open from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and the Quarantine Road Landfill's Residential Drop-off Center will remain open from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday-Saturday.

The City’s 311 call center is OPEN on Memorial Day and all other City-observed holidays. The 311 call center stands ready to take service requests from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, 365 days a year.
DPW reminds residents and water customers to report water/sewer emergencies to the City’s 311 call center. To report a water/sewer emergency, such as a watermain break, Baltimore City residents can dial 311, and Baltimore County residents can call (443) 263-2220. Requests can also be submitted online or through the Balt311 mobile app, from Google Play for Android users or the Apple App Store for iOS users.
